I'm using the original Game Boy Pocket shell to make an IPS screen.
Since I've replaced the screen with a glass aftermarket one, the screen is very easy to see.
The shell has some scratches and discoloration, but I think it still retains the atmosphere of the time and you can enjoy the game with a clean IPS screen.
There's a touch sensor around the screen and you can adjust the brightness to 5 levels by long pressing, and you can choose from 7 colors by tapping, with high resolution, horizontal, vertical, and grid display patterns for each color.
